@Erik – i’d put aunt may in her early 70s now. she was always frail and old, she’d have to be at least 60 originally (ditko era) to make that believable.

don’t forget, she’s now married to a man old enough to be j jonah jameson’s father; so, yes, doc ock likes older women. that was the quesion we really wanted the answer to ;)

Also, don’t forget that at one time she was engaged to Doctor Octopus. So either the Doc is in to cougars or they are roughly the same age.

Also, maybe May was a chain-smoker in high school. That could explain her grotesque appearance. If only there had been Truth.com back then.

Oh, I don't know. It was one of the flashback issues drawn by Bagley. Jessica fantasizes about The Human Torch and has a crush on Peter. She gets missed by an out of control truck full of radioactive waste which is heavily implied to by the one that hits Matt.

I think “many years” might be as much as 20. Say Grandpa and Grandma Parker marry and have Ben straight out of high school. Then 20 years later, they’re around 40. Still quite capable of having a surprise baby. Thus, when Richard is 20ish, Ben is 40ish, and when Peter is 16, Ben and May are closing in on 60.

Certainly the casting of Uncle Ben and Aunt May in Raimi’s Spidey films suggests those two are in their late hundreds.

You know, I think May is about 65, or so; possibly, she is one of those types that look a lot older than they should be. Back in high school, I met someone who was 27, but looks like she was a freshman in high school.

I’m bothered by Bendis’ treatment of Spider-Man, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil within Alias. He shows Jessica and Peter going to high school together and Jessica almost getting hit by the truck that blinds Matt. So, all are about the same age.

Elsewhere in the same series, Matt Murdock has had time to go through enough college to become a layer and start a successful practice (not to mention getting married a few times). Jessica Jones has had time to join and leave the Avengers and setup her own business. Peter Parker is a freelance photographer in his mid-20′s.

Spider-Man doesn’t age.
