While we might not quite be at the September 14, 2010 release date for Halo: Reach yet, the title has already leaked to modders.

Microsoft recently made the game available on Xbox Live Marketplace so that media outlets could start playing for review purposes. Allegedly the security measures in place to restrict who could access the game early were bypassed by modders and the game is being distributed on bittorrent sites.

While Microsoft is ‘aggressively investigating’ the exploit and leak, Bungie urging the Halo faithful to avoid internet gaming forums until they’ve played through the game so they won’t have key plot points spoiled for themselves.
