Grant Morrison's Next Series

Posted by: Alex Zalben on February 5, 2009 at 10:59 am

From the second part of Newsarama’s Final Crisis wrap-up (spoilers, natch):

NRAMA: Superman’s final wish – Why did he wish for a happy ending, rather than something literal, like Batman coming back?

GM: ‘Batman coming back’ is a little bit too specific an ending for a story about stories. Let’s face it, there’s always a dangerous ‘Monkey’s Paw’ element to making any specific wish – what if Batman ‘comes back’ but as a zombie, or a villain, or as a tiny little Batman who just sits there?

How much would you pay for Grant Morrison to write six issues about a tiny little Batman who just sits there? Because I would pay $3.99 an issue. Hear that, DC? That’s $23.94 right there.

Maybe he could team up with Scarface’s doll? I don’t know, I’m just spitballing here.

Yeah, ha ha ha, let’s laugh at this. Then, in three months when a Morrison idea even more ridiculous shows up in the solicitations, the joke will be on us. Then we’ll all cry and wish for the mirthful days of yore.
