My idea however is that perhaps sooner or later the sponsors or the host can come up with a tournament or game exhibition which can be done online. Why would Microsoft spend all that money on something when people can just play over the internet without going to Prague or anywhere else? It just seems a bit too much for me. Plus, gaming is, well, gaming. It’s for fun! I could see tournaments like this turning people into all day gamers just so they can win. It’s bad enough the gaming culture is seen as slackers who do nothing but spend hours in front of the TV, and now with Microsoft is encouraging that behavior! I’m sorry, but I think games should stay in the “for fun” category, not turn into something like this. We don’t need professional gamers, we have enough over-paid professional sports players as it is! You know, I like games as much as the next person, but I think this is a bit too much.
