Red Dead Redemption, the sequel to 2004’s western cult hit, Red Dead Revolver, is starting to look like a grand labor of love from Rockstar Games San Diego. We’ve got some new and older images mixed into our new gallery, but everything we’re seeing from this ‘GTA Western’ is looking like one to watch in 2010. You gunslingers can see the pictures after the jump…

Not that Demon Souls was easy to begin with, Atlus sends word that things will be getting even harder for Halloween. Atlus states that The Old One “…will seek to descend the land in pure blackness on All Hallow’s Eve. His minions will be more powerful, but the rewards for those who seek to challenge them will be greater as well.”

Simply put, it seems that for gamers playing the title online, the entire world will be put into a dark tendency for an undetermined period of time. Though things will be harder, a dark tendency will mean there are pathways that will be opened that weren’t accessible before as well as better loot drops.

It just may be a little too tempting to resist for those already playing.

Was Dead Space too intense? Probably the closest thing you’ll find to an 8 hour horror movie, Dead Space was arguably one of the most visceral gaming experiences of 2008. It wasn’t the sales success that Electronic Arts had hoped, but in a crowded holiday season of excellent titles, the mature and brutally cinematic game might’ve been too much for the average consumer to take in.

Gotta give Sony props on this one. They’re really getting clever on the advertising. They’re doing a bombing run on Microsoft, with hit after hit in gaining the hearts and minds of middle-ground gamers.
First the new marketing campaign and now….

It’s a merciless economy, and during the holiday season, multiplayer shooters are a dime a dozen. Sure, everybody’s getting Modern Warfare 2, but what about that second game demanding your extra dollar? Ten hours into Gearbox Games’ outstanding Borderlands (Xbox 360/PC/PS3), and our weekly Borderlands Scrapbook takes a look at the game as we progress through this massive 4-man co-op experience, offering our strategies and peeks into the game’s gallery of ‘a gazillion’ weapons. We’ll show you more Skaggs and desert psychos than you can shake a boomstick at. Borderlands is the definitive sleeper hit of 2009. It’s the most compelling console co-op game since Phantasy Star Online, and if you thought that Left 4 Dead 2 was the end of any co-op conversation, you’re in for something special.

Activision’s hip-hop/electronica music DJ game, DJ Hero hit stores today. With the arguably prohibitively priced $120.00 tag, one wonders if Activision’s marketing advertised the game enough? Kotaku reported yesterday that Activision had begun lowering its projected sales numbers for the title.

Forza Motorsport 3 returns the franchise to the spotlight with fresh new looks, sweet new features and more content than some top shelf RPGs. Players will find that Forza Motorsport 3 is more of an evolution than a revolution. Considering that Forza Motorsport 2 is a game that is still worth picking up from time to time, that’s not a bad thing at all.

Since its introduction in 2002, the Ratchet & Clank series has thrown out its fair share of mysteries. 2007’s Tools of Destruction ended with one major mystery… What has happened to Clank? In 2009, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time will have players facing another, heavy-hearted mystery… Is this the final adventure for the Lombax and his roobotic sidekick?
