It’s 90s Soul Sista Month here at My Future Ex-Wife Of The Week, and I’m kicking things off with Amel Larrieux. From Groove Theory, to working with Sweetback, and her solo work, I’ve always found her to be a great artist, not to mention being stunningly beautiful. I’m always gonna have a soft spot for “Tell Me”, especially, ’cause it reminds me of my high school days in Montreal, when I had to work to hear the only radio station playing hip-hop and R&B on a Walkman. I mean, laying on my bed sideways with my back arched, and one arm raised in the air, ’cause the frequency wasn’t strong enough to come through otherwise! K103, The Monster On The Seaway, dammit!!!

Oh, I’m saving her for Future Ex-Wife Showdown! May be next week, or the week after, but I’ll have a spot for her. Don’t worry!
