When I last saw Jubilation Lee (in Wolverine: Origins, #7 I believe), she was near-death, with a huge girder or whatever all up in her guts. The fact that artist Steve Dillon makes her would-be rescuer Wolverine look like he was leaning on the stupid thing and embedding it that much deeper wasn’t cool, even if Wolvie did proceed to beg Dum Dum Dugan to please save her. The fact that the Powers That Be had already de-powered her made her somewhat expendable already, but to top it off Marvel had solicited this book with a promise that “A beloved, long-time Marvel character” would die. Naturally I was more than a little worried for Jubes.
So when the next issue of Origin came out I hurriedly flipped through it to find out dear Jubilee’s fate — only to find her not mentioned at all. Which was a bit of a WTF moment for me. (Actually it was more than a moment because I kept flipping through the subsequent issues to see if writer Daniel Way would ever decide to show me whether or not she was dead — but of course he did not). Around this same time Jubilee did appear in Civil War: Front Line talking to reporter Sally Floyd about being a de-powered disenfranchised mutant, so that might’ve meant she lived. But I really wasn’t sure if Front Line was before or after the Girder In The Gut.
(Note: I am currently similary confused by Tony Stark. He is either the head of SHIELD or has been turned into an Ultron fembot, I don’t know which). Lacking any confirmation one way or the other in Origins, I didn’t even know if Jubes was dead or alive.
At any rate, jumping innumerable months to the present, I was quite happy to see Jubilee pop up (seemingly out of nowhere, to me at least) in a certain Marvel book out this week.

Without spoiling things too much, it appears Jubilee has gotten some enhancements since we last saw her :O

little Jubee done grown up and HOW
all joking aside, that is a little much.
I love her though so I’ll forgive it this time.
I was in 5th grade when Gen X started and from what I can tell Monet and Husk seem to be portrayed as around my age so Im guessing Jubilee isnt the same old high school girl. Glad to know she’ll see action
Who’s the artist? Maybe he’s an Austin Powers fan and thought her code name was “Jubblies”…?

JESUS CHRIST!! I like jugs as much as the next man (have you SEEN my avatar?!?), but this is a bit ridiculous.

Okay, you’ve all made the boobs joke, but none of you used the line that Jon fucking gifted to you:
“It appears Jubilee has gotten some enhancements.”
Do you people know nothing of comedy!?
6 | domino
The only thing bigger than Jubilee’s enhancements are Emma’s…..and the fact that the X-Books are finally streamlining themselves into some state of rational cohesiveness……well, Jubes jugs might be bigger than that…..

Is that really Jubilee?! And, NO I’m not talking about the “improvements” that you’re all talking about. I mean I knew she was coming back in July, but I honestly thought it was going to be another comic.
Anyways, I really hope that she has new powers, even though I loved her fireworks. Jubilee is the character that got me reading comics, and as long as she (and Hollow from The Loners) are around, I’ll keep reading! :)

I don’t think Jubes actually showed up in CW:Frontline, you might be thinking of Generation M.
Also, note how I take the high road and avoid making jokes about her “awesome boobage”.

@substatic: I just flipped through the CW: Front Line trade and didn’t see Jubilee, so you are probably right.

Why did Wolvie hand Jubes over to SHIELD and not take her back to Elixir hey?
Anyway, it’s Paco Medina, he makes everyones boobs big. Compare his New X-Men Pixie to Skottie Youngs current design. And Surge. And X-23…

It’s probably just an artist’s flub. I think Paco Medina has a way of making most women look like that anyway.
I’m just glad that Jubilee is back. She’s been a favorite of mine going back to when I first started reading X-Men.

Wolverine didn’t send Jubes to Elixer, because he:
1. Didn’t have the time to do so in order to save Jubilee’s life. She was practically dead on the spot.
2. Was surrounded by SHIELD agents who would have arrested him on the spot. Attempting to evacuate the building with a near-dead Jubilee would have caused her to possibly die while he was evading SHIELD.
3. He did what any father would have done… although I don’t like Wolverine: Origins as a title, they made it very clear that Wolverine would die for Jubilee.

The artwork is clearly Paco Medina’s which means she was in New Warriors. My mind immediately flashe bac to the scene in New Warrior’s #1 where Wolverine sees the news broadcast and recognizes Wondra’s eyes. I may be a little late on this one, but I think the cat’s outta the bag now.

I believe. Jubilee is Wondra. Wolverine had recognized Jubilee on the television screen. I didn’t know Jubilee had new powers. I think. Jubilee/Wondra’s powers are cool.
16 | Selvokaz
So her new codename is Wondra? … what new powers does she have?
17 | Adam Hoffman
It appears that she derives some degree of super-strength from the gauntlets she wears.
18 | groan
Don’t you guys think if Jubilee/Wondra’s codename should be WonBra? as in Wonder Bra? hahaha :D
It looks ridiculous, kinda like giant twin goiters :D

Jubilee did not appear in Civil War: Front Line.
The author is confusing it with the previous mini-series starring Sally Floyd, Generation M.

Frankly, the ‘click to enlarge’ text beneath the new and improved Jubes made me laugh.

I think they should draw her head smaller, just to make those things that much bigger. Yum. LOL

Well, marvel always draws women with huge boobs, at least, grown up ones, so maybe this is Marvel’s acknowledgment that finally Jubilee is not 13 anymore? LoL!!
Anyway! She is here, and into action!!! But I really REALLY hope she’ll get her “ability to explode matter at a sub-atomic level (a.k.a. paffs)” back someday.
It was Jubes who got me into comics. I’m glad she’s back and hopefully, to stay.

““It appears Jubilee has gotten some enhancements.””
Do not forget the ‘click to enlarge’ comment that was crossed out. It appears somebody did quite a bit of clicking…
