Final Wolverine Trailer

Posted by: Alex Zalben on March 5, 2009 at 9:34 am

Okay, fine, I’m sold:

This movie may end up being a massive mess, but this trailer convinces me that the emphasis will be on “massive.” We got a sense from the first trailer that there’s a lot of Hard Travelin’ Wolvie in the film, but this final trailer shows us that some of the set pieces are GIGANTIC, including, if you watch carefully, pretty much the entire plot of the movie (which is pretty reminiscent of a certain genre show’s current arc).

Oh, and the good news? It looks like the big fights don’t take place at night. There’s nothing worse than an action movie that decides to stick its final fight in the dark. Trust me on this one.

Did you see the new Marvel/DC its Rorschach and Wolverine.

I think it’s weird that Cyclops is in this but maybe they’ll actual make him a cool character instead of what they did to him in the X-men movies.

and I have no Idea what NBC show that has the government mutant hunting.. I mean people with abilities/powers hunting squad. I hear the movie starts with Wolverine getting a mysterious text message from some called REBEL.

I hope this movie turns out better than it looks, but if it is successful it just means FOX is going to make more super hero movies. and with the rumor being “if Wolverine does well they’re going to go through and make the Magneto movie and also make a Deadpool spin off” Magneto sounds interesting and people know who he is, but Deadpool is essentially an unknown outside of comics. If they have that much faith for him to carry a movie after that can we get one about Bishop in the future. I hope the deadpool thing was a rumor cause I’d really like the X-men to get back on track.

@Alex – Now, does Luke and Vader’s duel in RoTJ fall in line with the “in the dark” thing? I’d be interested in reading examples. :) My wife likes Wolverine. She doesn’t like comics, but she does like Wolverine’s story–and I don’t get it! But regardless, that being said, I was gonna see this movie anyway.

So was anyone else surprised to see Cyclops int he trailer? I was! I had no idea the character was going to show up, you think it would’ve been spoiled long ago, considering how things go with the internet these days. Just goes to show you I guess.

@Jrrd – The Incredible Hulk and X-Men 3 come to mind… It’s just an easy way of hiding shoddy special effects, and is never as interesting to watch as a daytime battle. And RoTJ is well lit throughout… The Empire duel starts out that way, then smartly heads outside.
