MF Grimm to write Green Lantern?

By: Rich Watson

Holy headlines, Batman, this is a genuine scoop! I have just received word from a very reliable source that MF Grimm, fresh off the success of his Vertigo autobiography Sentences, will write a Green Lantern comic featuring John Stewart! Grimm has stated in more than one interview, such as this one, that he has plans to work within the DCU after Sentences. My source could not confirm whether this Green Lantern book was a mini-series or an ongoing, but my source confirmed with “someone in a position to know if this was a True Deal” that this is indeed happening. Let’s wait for official word before we call it absolute fact, but I have reason to believe this is true.

Nice scoop Rich. I’m not very familiar with John Stewart’s character but I really liked Sentences and am interested in seeing how Grimm fits into the DCU

Thats insane

Wonder if this will spark a trend of mc’s taking over writing duties in comics, much like the Hollywood guys were doing.

Well, Wu-Tang Clan will definitely get back into comics in 2008 and beyond - Method Man has a graphic novel in the works - and there has been speculation that 50 Cent and Kanye West are interested in writing comics. Nothing definite yet.

A wave of rappers wriitng comics is definitely possible. All it would require are a few publishers willing to take a chance on these guys.
