Diner Dash: Flo on the Go Launches
Posted by: Howard Brown on October 17, 2006 at 11:07 am
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 17 – A Diner Dash fan recently said it right: “Hard work pays off!” And Flo has certainly been busy. After building a dining empire from scratch and saving five more restaurants from the wrecking ball, Flo’s finally taking a much-needed vacation! But how long can the hard-working heroine resist doing what she does best — slinging grits and earning tips? Fans find out today in Diner Dash: Flo on the Go, the third title in the top-selling Diner Dash franchise from leading casual games publisher, PlayFirst. Now available for both Mac and PC download, Flo on the Go is free to try for 60 minutes or purchase for $19.95 from www.playfirst.com/game/dinerdashfloonthego .
“With all of her hard work in the last two games, Flo definitely needed a vacation. But you know what they say: ‘you can take the girl out of the diner, but you can’t take the diner out of the girl,’” said Kenny Dinkin, vice president and executive producer, PlayFirst. “We’re also proud to announce our first simultaneous launch of both Mac and PC versions starting with this highly anticipated game. This lets fans on both platforms get the same access to Flo and her latest adventure.”
In her latest downloadable adventure, players join Flo and her friend Darla as they embark on the vacation of their dreams. But when Flo’s suitcase suddenly spills into the water, she must rely on her table serving talents to get their vacation back on track. Soon, even more restaurants need Flo’s help and with all the mayhem, will she ever get to relax?
Building off the innovative gameplay of the first two games, players help Flo manage a stream of challenging customers including two new types, Tourists and Lovebirds. The game also introduces new travel-themed twists and turns, such as turbulence and blackouts. Players can select from a wide range of restaurant upgrades — everything from a lap pool on the cruise ship to a candelabra on the train — to enhance each level. Facing challenges such as managing noisy customers, taking picture requests and mopping up spills, players are in for a new high-flying adventure with casual gaming’s most beloved heroine.

Yes…the 30 minute trial is disappointing. I don’t see the point of her new closet. Let’s talk about the new game though. I think the choices that you get for expert is awesome. Better choices than just three things. I also love the midnight buffet level. Make sure you keep moving that flash light around.

very dissapointing that the free trial was only 30 min. was not enough time to see if i liked it. so if you can tell in 30 min it was okay.
7 | cct
For the short amount of time I was able to try it out, it seems like it may be pretty good. The trial is only 30 minutes which is not enough time for people to try it out.
If the trial was short, does that mean the game is short also. Hmm…… Don’t think I want to take the $20.00 plunge. If they increase the trial time I may change my mind.
8 | Christien
i totally agree that 30 minutes is to short. I wont buy this game because i think this game mabey will be short and i don’t like how the game looks like.
9 | trina
i thought the game was pretty cool but the 30 min trial really sucks. i need more time to see if i like it or not how many levels are they offering on this game they should give the full 60 min or drop the price of the game
11 | Lisa
just as your getting in to it the time has expired you really need more time
12 | Nay-Nay
so so sad this was the most dissappointing game of the year
13 | Melissa Lyle
Cool game……..30 mins?? That really sucks. Must be cutting the time in half to save money or something. Don’t understand that???? Crazy
14 | diner dash fan
This game is really fun!!!! but i hate the free trial 30 min. You need more time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
15 | Mae
I agree. I like diner dash 1 & 2 but I’m not so sure about this one. Didn’t have enough time to get into it. I wouldn’t purchase it based on what you see in 30 minutes. Needs to be longer

30 min sucks!!! how the heck are u suppoust to decide if u like it? are u all nutz maken it 30 min?im suppoust to blow $20 on that? id rather do it in a fire ant pit then pay $20 for a game im not sure will last past two resturants. prove it lasts longer or extend the time trial.

…30 minutes is way too short. The worst part is almost like only PlayFirst has the game for the download , so if you want to try again , you can’t.
Its way too hard to think on whether you want to purchase it , or not. I don’t even know if this game will be hellishly short at all.

I was so in to Diner Dash 3! I was very disappointed with the fact that it was only 30 minutes long! AHH, I will have to purchase all 3 games!
20 | Alohaviki
Highly disappointing trial duraction, the price isn’t right. I mean for a game with old graphics and not much going on, it is far to pricy.

22 | pini
30 minutes is nothting . and it is even too difficult to get the demo. i couldnt even get a demo yet. i agree with all of you here.
23 | LADYT1959
30 minute demo they got to be nuts. and why are some of those site still asking for 19.95 for the games when you can go to bigfish.com and pay as low as 6.99 bring your prices down!!!!!!!!!

Totally disappointed with the short trial time. I bought diner dash 1 & 2. Like to find out more about what’s the different with diner dash 3 or else no point getting it as all about the same.

Please extend the trial time to excite me more. No point paying $32/- over here for a game if similar with diner dash 1 & 2.

Trial is short… i finished it just now. What’s up with the closet, i don’t really understand why she needs those clothes? oh well, guess they want to add it and make the game more interesting… but 30 mins is really sucks!
27 | Bobbie
I liked both Diner Dash 1 & 2 but only giving a half hour for demo on this one, I just don’t think that is long enough to tell if you really like a game, extend the trial to 1 hour, you will have more people interested in this game if you do.
28 | nanabear
I thought it was the best yet, but 30 min was too short. But I could swear the my computer shook during the rough seas. I was some fun but if the demo was longer then I could really get a feel for it.
29 | Julissa
I do not know what to think I can’t jughe a game in 30 min what a rip off I won’t buy this game!!
31 | Nija
Just as I was getting into the game the demo was over. I could not tell if I wanted to buy it or not. I tried to find it at other sites but was unsuccesful. Unless they offer more time or bring the price down I wouldnt buy this game.
32 | Joyce
couldn’t tell if it was a good game 30 miutes? what has this world come to?!!!!!!!!!

October 27th, 2006 at 12:20 pm
Time trial should be longer the others are an hour, at least that gives u a feel for the game 30 mins isn’t long enough!!!!! Disappointing
37 | sil
liked it but.. 30 min trial ? what happened to 60.. i guess play first wants us to buy the game well we need more time to decide weather the game is worth 20 bucks or not.
38 | Anon
Not worth $20.. at least nothing I found in the first 30 minutes. The Upgrades were done badly and the closet was ok but pointless.
Not impressed… there may have been more to offer but 30 minutes was too short.
NOT a good idea.
39 | kerry
i wish the trial was longer and the game is great they just get better
40 | Lindsay
The game is so fun, but they dont give you any time!!!! Whats with that? I would not blow 20$ on this game. They should make it longer, or lower the price.
42 | ReenieB
Im not sure if I liked it or not! i bought the other diner dashes, but dont think i will be buying this one, its not enough demo time to make a decision, and its very much the same as the other 2, a few new things but alot of the old things!!

had fun playing it, but 30 mins is too short a time to decide if I want to buy it. extend the time for trial or cut the price in 1/2.

False advertising is what I say. They say 60 minutes… Whatever!!!
49 | stacie
I agree that 30 minutes is to short. I think I liked the game, but I am not sure. The really stinky thing is that you can only find it at play first. They either need to allow us mre time to get to know the game, or let some other site run it. They are not going to save money, they are going to loose money, because no one will buy it. If you do not know if you are going to like it you are not going to buy it.

You would think with all the comments of the short trial time something would be done about the 30 minutes.
Get with the program.

30 MINUTES REALLY SUX AND SUX BAD. Seems to me like playfirst is being awfully cheap and overly greedy. All other games are an hour trial – what are they trying to hide by making it only 30 minutes? I bought both the first and second…will not be buyingthis one…just seems to weird that you get such a short trial

The cheap 30 minute time limit sucked……..i like the game but, i also agree….if the time limit is so short, what makes me think the game isn’t…..i’m not gonna buy it, when all other diner dash games have one hour trials…makes me think something is fishy (and its not just what Darla’s cooking in the kitchen) LOL!
HEY, PLAYFIRST…..WHEN YOU SAY ONE HOUR TRIAL, THAT’S WHAT YOU SHOULD GIVE….WE KNOW HOW TO TELL TIME YA KNOW!!!!!

I Love playing diner dash and diner dash 2, But diner dash Flo on the go trail period is to short. I wouln’t spend the money on it, because I’m not sure if I like it or if the game is short. 30 minutes is not long enough. you should do like shockwave they give you 60 minutes to see if you like it.

What the heck is up with the 30 minute trial?? I liked the game, but how will I know if I really do if I buy the full game because I couldnt tell. The 30 minute trial is bogus, and it should be like an hour and a half to make sure I want to spend 20 dollars on this game!

November 27th, 2006 at 2:15 pm
how come no other sites have it available for download? I love diner dash and diner dash 2, but like everyone else said, 30 minutes is way to short. It leads me to believe that the game itself is short too.

Disappointed with the 30 minutes trial period. I had my card ready to purchase, then, poof it was gone. I cant tell if I liked the game or not. So, I wont be buying.

Well, first of all, there ARE places where you can get the full sixty minute demo for this game, not just thirty. PlayFirst is a little skimpy on all Demo times. However, I’ve played this game from beginning to end & believe me, it’s not worth the $20.00 they are asking for. The best parts of the game you go through in the demo period, which leaves you really dissapointed after buying this game. If I would have known this ahead of time, I wouldn’t have bought it. I would not recommend paying any more than $10.00 for this game, or you’ll be sadly dissapointed.
