I could understand of Tom Rothman's rationale was based on the performance(or lack there of) of Eddie Murphy's last sci-fi comedy, but if it's because he honestly believes there's never been a successful sci-fi film, I have to start questioning not only this man's intelligence and observational skills, but his rights as a human being!!!

You know why Will Smith is the most commercially successful film star in recent memory? Because he acknowledged that some of the most commercially successful films of all-time ARE sci-fi movies!!! I swear, if there's any movie studio that succeeds in spite of itself more than any other studio, it's 20th Century Fox.
