Variety is reporting on various aspects of the upcoming Hitman film (20th Century Fox) that have been announced. Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood) is set to star as the lead, Agent 47. Dougray Scott (Desperate Housewives) is set to play the villain. Luc Besson (Kiss of the Dragon, The Transporter) will produce the film with Xavier Gens set to direct.
That’s right boys and girls. Contrary to previous rumors, Uwe Boll will NOT be directing Hitman. We can all breathe a sigh of relief now.

Now that the moment of silence is over, a few other details. Robert Knepper (T-Bag of Prison Break) and Olga Kurylenko (Paris, je t’aime) are amongst the other actors announced for the feature film. Hitman is based on the popular videogame series of a gun for hire (Agent 47) who assassinates people for a group known as ‘The Agency.’
We’ll have more info as it breaks.
