When they call me and say, ‘Hey, we’ve got this idea and this is what we want to do,’ then I listen.”

Katrina was a tragedy beyond imagination. I got in my truck everyday and just took rides around the city by myself to see mile after mile of devastation. I’ll just never forget what I witnessed.”

And I just had a feeling somebody was getting close — ‘ah, just give me another second’ — and it wasn’t 10 seconds and he drove by and gave me the whole scoop on Dreamgirls.”
