Marvel announced during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that artwork for its upcoming Dark Tower Series will blow fans away when pages are released this November. Currently, the first issue of Marvel’s Dark Tower comic is on track for a Febuary/March release according to an announcement during this year’s Cup-O-Joe panel at the San Diego Comic-Con.
The Dark Tower Series, based on the best-selling fantasy/sci-fi/horror/western-themed novels by legendary writer Stephen King, is one of Marvel’s aggressive approaches to extend the fanbase of comics into the world of the casual ‘non-comics’ reader. Originally announced in April 2006, The Dark Tower Series from Marvel will be a SPIN-OFF of new material rather than an adapatation.
Fans old and new can expect exciting new stories scripted by fan-favorite scribe Peter David (Hulk/Sensational Spider-Man), colored by Richard Isanove (Origin), written by Robin Furth and illustrated by Jae Lee(Sentry, Inhumans).
