An outtake from my UVC interview with Kyle Baker regarding Babies and Kittens:

“…I’m gonna get a little sillier with the next book. We’re getting a cat. We have cats. My family actually got cats against my wishes because they hid them from me for two days. I was living with cats and I didn’t know. So that’s a funny idea for a book. And it was also funny because the baby really was excited until she realized she was no longer the center of attention and then she started war on the cat! [laughs] So the whole book is basically a baby biting a kitten! [laughs] [For] that book, the drawings are a little more cartoony – like the mouse. They got the cat because we had mice. So I thought it’d be fun to make a cartoon mouse. So they’ll have more personality, and so will the cat. It’ll be more like an angelic cat…”
