The submission period for the 2009 GCAs is now closed, and I wanna thank everyone who sent in stuff. It feels a bit odd to be outside the voting process this year, but at the same time the anxiety of not knowing what will get nominated is greater. I know what I would have nominated, and I’m hoping that at least most of them will make the cut. Regardless, though, the lineup of judges for this year is a truly great one, and I believe we’ll get some great choices.

Here’s a video interview with Nancy Goldstein, author of the recent Jackie Ormes biography.

Kyle Baker shows off some early Hawkman pages.

Marvel says that wasn’t really President Obama in a recent issue of Thunderbolts. Oh really? Then why have they gone to such lengths to cash in on his appearance in Amazing Spider-Man? Either Obama is president of the Marvel Universe or he isn’t, but don’t try to foist this half-assed crap on us that doesn’t even look like a black guy anyway.
