Comics for August 29 and news

Posted by: Rich Watson on August 27, 2007 at 7:00 pm

Okay, no more damn haikus. I’m not entirely sure why I thought that was a funny idea to begin with…

Amazons Attack #6 (of 6). Art by Pete Woods.
Bomb Queen IV #1 (of 4). Yet another damn miniseries. Story and art by Jimmie Robinson (you’d think he’d at least put a little breathing room between series).
Black Panther #30. Written by Reggie Hudlin.
Fantastic Four #549. Written by Dwayne McDuffie.
Greatest Stars of the NBA V11, V12

Remember that BET animated video “Read a Book” I told you about at Comic-Con? Well, surprise surprise surprise – some people find it offensive.

The Middle Eastern comic The 99 will now be available on mobile phones.

This week’s Evil and Offensive Cartoon That Must Be Destroyed For The Sake of the Children comes to us from Brussels, with a tip of the hat to Tintin in the Congo.

Meanwhile, Ed Gamble, the artist of last week’s EAOCTMBDFTSOTC, ain’t going nowhere. BTW, here’s a column that measures the impact of that particular cartoon.

A little more info on the upcoming Robert Johnson manga (scroll down about halfway). Thanks to Martha Cornog for the link.

Tom Spurgeon reviews Satchel Paige.

Oh, great…and after I told my Tony’s Online Tips readers I thought they were hilarious.

It’s in today’s column.

Man, does my timing suck. :)

Best wishes,

Tony

Well, it was never meant to go on indefinitely. I’m nowhere near that funny a writer… :-p
