chimp cartoon leads to News Corp’s diversity council

Remember that chimp cartoon from the New York Post that got everybody upset because they thought the artist was comparing the chimp to President Obama? Well, it looks like the Post’s parent company is gonna attempt to be more sensitive to racial matters in the future by forming this council. While it’s not a bad idea, I hope the newspaper will also adapt tighter editorial standards. The chimp cartoon, as I noted at the time, sent conflicting messages and was completely vague as to what it was supposed to be about. I honestly think that was the only real problem – if cartoonist Sean Delonas was anti-Obama, for whatever reason, he should’ve expressed himself better in his work.
