Buck Rogers Rockets Towards May Release

Okay, so we’re kind of excited. If you’re nostalgic for the old Gil Gerard/Erin Grey series from the early 80’s then you can’t help but smile at the sudden resurgence of interest in the Buck Rogers franchise from Dynamite Comics.
Yes, we know that there was a 1930’s serial for ole’ Buck, and we’re totally aware that lil’ Twiki (voiced by cartoon legend Mel Blanc) won’t be anywhere NEAR this new franchise, but variant covers by Alex Ross and John Cassaday are awesome.
Look for Issue #1 to hit store shelves in early May.
For giggles, look at how much old buck has changed over the decades in this video.

He looks like an Adam Strange ripoff! The Buck Rogers concept is pretty dated now, and the lack of story specifics online beyond “a modern edge” doesn’t bode well. I do like Scott Beatty, though — I’m the first President of the Son of Vulcan fan club! — so I’ll check this out in TPB if it makes it that far.

I can’t bloomin’ wait! It’s gonna be awesome…it’ll hopefully bring by my youth at a time when I didn’t have a baby and two more kids to look after!
I used to love the old show from the 70’s, loved Farscape, and I’m already warming to the idea of a remake DESPITE the fact that Guy’s right…this really does look like an Adam Strange rip-off.
But i’ll check it out. Space opera is usually fun.
