Watchmen’s Dr. Manhattan Cast?
By: Kayode Kendall
According to Chud, Billy Crudup (Almost Famous, Mission: Impossible III) has been cast as Dr. Manhattan in Zack Snyder’s film adaptation of the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons graphic novel, Watchmen. While there is yet to be an official announcement on the casting, it is believed that the announcement will be made by Snyder when he appears at the San Diego Comic-Con at the end of this month.
A very reliable source tells me that Snyder has settled on Crudup for the role of Watchmen’s only super-powered character, a scientist who accidentally gets annihilated on an atomic level and reconstructs himself into a big, naked, blue, floating demigod, says Devin Faraci.
I don’t necessarily have an opinion one way or another on the casting, I’m just wondering how they’re gonna handle a character who spent almost the entire comic with his junk exposed.
