While some gamers have been crying foul over various lockup glitches on the PS3 and Xbox 360 since the game launched last week, Rockstar has announced today that they’re patching the PS3 version.
Pegging Gamespy servers as the cause for the blame, the firm had the following to say. “Rockstar Games has released a GTA IV patch for Playstation 3 today that prevents Gamespy’s servers from being overloaded and therefore reduces the impact on those servers that were causing the game to stutter and lock up. We continue to monitor the performance of the game both on and offline and will provide further updates as necessary. We want to assure everyone that, together with our hardware partners, we continue to strive to give our fans the best possible interactive entertainment experiences possible. This update will ensure that everyone will experience Grand Theft Auto IV the way it was intended. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.”

Sierra has announced that Jason Bourne will be doing his thing on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 this June. The game brings Jason Bourne’s signature combat style to life by sharply blending a seamless mix of hand-to-hand fighting, gunplay and dramatic escapes.
Through close partnership with Ludlum Entertainment, and collaboration on story and character development with Bourne screenwriter Tony Gilroy, The Bourne Conspiracy is an intense interactive addition to the blockbuster films and best-selling novels. The game delivers an original story uncovering Jason Bourne’s past and the conspiracy shrouding his origins, plunging players into the role of Bourne as both trained assassin and marked government agent. Core to the experience is Bourne’s definition as a perfect weapon with heightened combat instinct, where players use Bourne’s characteristic capabilities to recognize threats, perform devastating takedown moves and use his surrounding environment to overcome deadly situations.
“We’re creating a video game that is distinctly Bourne, based on a deconstruction of the character from action hero to game hero, and one that we ultimately believe gamers will discover as a distinctively original licensed action game,” said Emmanuel Valdez, chief creative officer, High Moon Studios and game director on The Bourne Conspiracy.

Fox Searchlight has hired Edwin Freeman (Across the Universe, Inside Man) to play the role of Mister Cee in the upcoming movie Notorious, a biopic of the life and death of Christopher Wallace. Freeman joins Angela Bassett (Meet the Browns, How Stella Got Her Groove Back) as Voletta Wallace, Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher, Biker Boyz) as Diddy, Anthony Mackie (We Are Marshall, She Hate Me) thugging it out as Tupac, and Jamal Woolard as The Notorious B.I.G. Naturi Naughton (3 Little Women) is rumored to star as Lil Kim.
Filming started last month on Notorious and the film is scheduled for release in 2009.
Capcom has revealed the first five members of the cast for the upcoming Street Fighter live-action movie. Topping the list and playing the lead role of everyone’s favorite videogame brawling vixen, Chun-Li, is Kristen Kreuk (Lana Lang of Smallville). Balrog will be played by the big man himself, Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile, Sin City, Daredevil). M. Bison will be played by Neal McDonough (The Hitcher, Minority Report, The Guardian). Guile’s partner in crime, Charlie Nash will be portrayed by Chris Klein (American Pie). Perhaps the biggest surprise in the announcement was that Vega will be played by none other than Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas. He certainly has the height and stature, but can the man act? We’ll just have to see.
The film will be distributed by 20th Century Fox and is currently scheduled for a 2009 worldwide release.
