“I try to write each issue to be as new-reader friendly as possible… Each issue contains two self-contained stories: one set in the present and the other set in Blade’s past. The stories set in Blade’s past follow chronologically and you would certainly benefit from reading the issues that came before, but I write the flashback stories so that you don’t need to read the issues that came before. I just plop you down in the middle of the action and tell you whatever you need to know to follow the story in that individual issue.”
