Banning Hip-Hop’s Three Dirty Words

Influential hip-hop leaders want all the derogatory lyrics to stop – and are demanding the music industry and broadcasters make it happen. The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network – a coalition of hip-hop pioneers and record label executives – wants recording and broadcast leaders to “remove/bleep/delete” all references to “b—h,” “ho” and the racial epithet “n—-r.” [NY Daily News]

words r words n dats it. yea they might hurt but its better 2 receive an insult than a bullet. 1st imus then this crap and then J.V & elvis from the dog house radio show. Now Donnell Rawlings from da power radio show has been fired 4 a lil joke. does freedom of speech even exist anymore? hip hop wont change , n it does not have 2. music is an art form. The system slowly takin away our rights. New World Order is right around da corner. BEWARE n unite now. not just 4 hip hop but 4 all of us as a whole !!!

I think that songs that have political commentary should be able to tell stories using words that we find objectionable. It is *often* the usage of the words. Thoughtful use is better than full banning.
