As mentioned in (our podcast review of ASM #594) this cover bugged me..

It isn’t horrible, it’s just very nonsensical.
Mr. Mattress, whoever or whatever he is, isn’t even in this book, but I’m not here to deride a cover solely because it mis-represents the content inside. The main reason this cover fails is because it’s just not a compelling image. I don’t know, or care to know, anything about Mr. Mattress, and the guy we’re supposed to care about is so small you can barely see him.
What’s worse is it’s drawn by Joe Quesada, a great artist who’s done plenty of eye-catching covers in the past. On top of Quesada being too talented to do something so average, there’s also the fact that he just doesn’t draw much these days to begin with (being Marvel’s Editor-In-Chief, he naturally hasn’t had a lot of time for it) — so you’d hope that few covers he does would be more memorable, wouldn’t you?
A frustratingly bad and disappointing job all around.

Agreed. This blows! And Joey Q usually always delivers! (Those Marvel Knights covers? Breathtaking.)
I know he’s a busy guy, but give this job to an up and comer if you can’t “come with it” EiC. I know him and Jemas, when they took over, used to be meticulous about covers.

I beg to differ. I quite fancy this “Mr. Mattress” and apparently! He wants me.
