SDAFF postscript

The 8th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival was a blast! I went down with my producing partners and we met a lot of people and partied. One of the highlights was definitely opening night’s screening of “Finishing the Game”. Justin Lin packed the house and MC Hammer (yes, that MC Hammer) came as he not only played a small part in the film, but helped finance it as well.

The rest of the weekend offered tons of screenings and parties galore. Unfortunately, my other producer Ralph spent most of the weekend sick. Akira’s own James Kyson Lee was one of the celebrity guests and there was a big dinner honoring George Takei. The award for Best Narrative Short was won by a buddy of mine, Shaym Balse for his film “Monsoon”.

AHHS is being shown this weekend in Los Angeles as part of BHERC’s 14th Annual African-American Film Marketplace.
